Rochester, MN-  All Mesabi Range College needed to get their baseball season started was some unusually warm February temperatures and access to a turf field.  The Norseman found both in taking on the Johnnies of St. John's University in a season-opening double-header. 

The St. John's JV squad took the first game from the Norsemen, 7-1, and overcame Mesabi in the nightcap as well, 15-1.  Both games were 7 inning affairs.  After traveling to Collegeville for the two non-conference games, Mesabi Range will next take on MCAC foe, St. Cloud Tech, playing a double-header in U.S. Bank Stadium on March 1st.  First pitch is scheduled for 6am in Minneapolis.
