Rochester Mn:
Freshman infielder Matt Quade and the rest of his St. Cloud Tech teammates are off to a fast start in the 2017 MCAC baseball season.
So far this spring, St. Cloud Tech has put up a 3-1 overall record, with a two game sweep of fellow MCAC squad Mesabi Range (5-1 and 11-2), with both wins coming in the indoor confines of U.S. Bank Stadium. St. Cloud has also split with Lansing Community College to begin their spring trip, beating LCC 6-3 and falling to the same squad in the nightcap, 6-1.
Quade has done his part and then some from the plate, going .500 over his first ten at bats with two home runs and a .615 on base percentage. The Paynesville, Minnesota native has scored 5 runs in the early part of the season, leading his team and the league. Defensively, Quade has been flawless, registering a spotless 1.000 fielding percentage.
St. Cloud Tech and Quade are back in action March 8th, with a double-header scheduled against ASA College in Winter Haven, Florida. First pitch of game one scheduled for 11am EST.
