Northland Tech and Anoka-Ramsey To Kick off '17 NJCAA National Championship Tournament

Rochester Mn-

After a whirlwind 48 hours of travel and weather, one might not be surprised if the women's basketball teams at Northland Tech and Anoka-Ramsey may be asking each other;  "Do you want to build a snowman?"

As both MCAC women's hoops programs were able to outlast Winter Storm Stella, they now turn their attention to the question at hand: Which storied program will survive and advance to the semi-final round of the 2017 NJCAA Women's Basketball National Championship tournament, held today, Friday and Saturday at the Jorgensen Athletic Complex in Utica, New York.

The #2 seed, NCTC,  will be paced by sophomore center ShaRon Miller, a four-time MCAC North Player-of-the-Week who averaged 16.1 points per game and almost 10 rebounds per outing over the course of the regular season.  Anoka-Ramsey, the #7 seed in the competition,  will look to sophomore guard Rashonna Thomas, a playmaker who averaged over 22 points per game as well as 3.3 steals a game on defense.
