Oglesby and Jenkins Tabbed All-American in Men's Hoops

Rochester, Mn-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference men's basketball season was highlighted this week with two MCAC standouts earning All-American honors.

Ridgewater College's Akeem Oglesby and Central Lakes College guard Keonte Jenkins both found themselves on the NJCAA's Second-Team All-American list released earlier this week. Both sophomore student-athletes were key offensive forces for their respective squads and found themselves as the go-to player down the stretch.

Jenkins, competing in the Northern Division, was a part of a strong late season run for Central Lakes, as they earned a trip to the MCAC State Tournament and helping long-time coach Jim Russell earn his 400th career victory in the process.

Oglesby was a leader on a Ridgewater squad that had the misfortune of competing in a very strong MCAC Southern Division in 2016-17.  Despite an All-American season for the 6' sophomore, Ridgewater lost out on a tie-breaker to gain entrance to the MCAC State Tournament, and finished the season at 17-8 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
