Championship Sunday in Men's and Women's Hoops

On Sunday, March 4, three championship teams in men's and women's basketball will be crowned around the land of 10,000 lakes. 

In Thief River Falls, Northland Community & Technical College will host Hibbing Community College in the Region XIIIB women's basketball championships.   NCTC dispatched a determined Central Lakes squad yesterday to advance to the championship while Hibbing overcame Rainy River to secure their place in the contest.  CLICK HERE   to access the live stream action, beginning at 2pm. In the far southwest corner of Minnesota, Worthington is the site of the Region XIIIA championship contest, also at 2pm.  Hometown Minnesota West CTC will host Rochester Community & Technical College for the right to hoist the Region XIIIA hardware and book a trip to the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Championships. The national tournament is hosted by Rock Valley Community College in Rockford, Illinois and will run March 15-16-17. 

In men's basketball, Anoka-Ramsey Community College will defend their 2017 Regional and MCAC State Tournament title at 3pm, when they take on a surging Minnesota West men's team.  MnWest has played their way to the final a #4 seed, beating top-seeded Rainy River and RCTC along the way. Anoka-Ramsey defeated Mesabi Range College and Vermilion on their route to the contest. The State Championship contest tips off at 3pm or shortly after conclusion of the MCAC State third-place contest, just getting underway at 1pm.  Live Stream links for both games at ARCC are available by CLICKING HERE. 

The winner of the Anoka-Ramsey v. Minnesota West contest will advance to the 2018 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball, held in New York, March 15-16-17. 

Throughout the course of today's action, be sure to look for the 2018 MCAC Men's Basketball and MCAC Women's Basketball All-Division teams, posted throughout the afternoon.
