According to M State-Fergus Falls head coach Jason Retzlaff;  "It was as high a scores for the field as we have seen in a round since we have been out here.  The winds were whipping and combine that with the extremely fast greens, it made for difficult conditions.  We really struggled on the front nine and outside of Mason couldn't seem to get into the flow of the round.  But we really hung in there and played very nicely on the back nine. It was one of those rounds that felt like we weren't playing well, but then when we came in to see the scores, it was obvious that the conditions were tough on everybody.  We are very pleased with our position heading into round 2. This is a marathon and not a race and patience is of the utmost importance in a 4 round golf championship."
