Ridgewater College Announces Football Season Decision

Rochester, MN-

Ridgewater College announced on Thursday, September 27 that their Warrior football team will not complete the 2018 MCAC football schedule.  In a statement, the college cited player safety as the primary concern, as the number of athletes on their roster had dropped from 54 athletes to 22 athletes over the course of the fall.  Ridgewater was 0-4 overall, 0-2 in the Western Division.

Four colleges had games remaining to be played with Ridgewater; Northland CTC (Sept. 29), M State-Fergus Falls (Oct. 6), Minnesota West CTC (Oct. 13) and Rochester CTC (Oct. 20).   For the purposes of MCAC standings and playoff positions, each of Ridgewater's scheduled opponents shall receive two points in the standings for Divisional contests and one point for non-Divisional contests.  By NJCAA by-laws, the four unplayed contests are classified as canceled.
