Several wrestling and men's basketball teams in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference returned from their holiday break having not missed a beat and have been recognized by the NJCAA for their strong start to 2019. 

In men's basketball, St. Cloud Technical & Community College is one of only a handful of unbeaten teams in the NJCAA Division III ranks, sporting a 11-0 record as they head into a Wednesday, January 9 showdown with Anoka-Ramsey Community College to begin MCAC Southern Division action.  The Cyclones are No. 6 in the current NJCAA Division III Top 10 NJCAA poll.  Also found in the poll is 12-1 Riverland Community College, who is listed in the 'Receiving Votes' category, one of three teams with that distinction.  Like SCTCC, Riverland will open up their Southern Division schedule Wednesday, January 9 when they take on Rochester Community & Technical College.

Wrestling teams from around the NJCAA ranks have their first NJCAA Wrestling Rankings poll of 2019 out this week and three MCAC programs are among it's honorees.  The NJCAA Wrestling Coaches Association tabbed Rochester Community & Technical College as the No. 18 squad in the country; the Yellowjackets are in a four-way tie with Triton (IL), Mercyhurst Northeast and Jamestown (NY) for that honor.  In the 'Receiving Votes' category, Itasca Community College and Northland Community & Technical College are grouped with six other NJCAA programs for that distinction.
