Adidas, Nicklasson & United States Marine Corps Lead MCAC into 2019-20

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) recently renewed a key partnership for a second annual cycle and welcomed two outstanding new partners for the 2019-20 academic year. 

Adidas, Nicklasson Athletic Company and the United States Marine Corps head up the MCAC sponsorship roster as the nation's largest NJCAA Division III athletic conference heads into a robust and exciting 2019-20 campaign. 

Through the MCAC / Nicklasson Athletic partnership, MCAC-member colleges shall have access to the premium adidas Team Dealer inventory, promo wear and incentives. Squads and schools across the MCAC shall enjoy the best pricing, best products and best opportunity to elevate their game both on and off the field through the agreement.  In addition, the Conference will now be able to develop and provide award apparel for select MCAC regular-season and post-season events.  Additionally, with the sponsorship, Nicklasson will be the presenting partner of the MCAC / Nicklasson Coach-of-the-Year Award to MCAC mentors.  

After a successful 2018-19 athletic season, the United States Marine Corps will again be an impressive presence at several MCAC events and on member campuses.  The USMC will continue to provide leadership training, team cohesion exercise opportunities and educational forums for students, fans, followers and families around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Keep an eye out for the USMC on your campus as they present selected Athlete-of-the-Week awards to high-performing student-athletes who - like the Marine Corps - win battles for their teams en route to earning MCAC Player-of-the-Week honors. 

Adidas, the NJCAA national apparel and equipment provider, has long been a supporter of grass-roots sport in our communities.  Through Nicklasson Athletics, adidas shall provide the class and elevated brand-status enjoyed by top four-year colleges and universities across the United States. Several NCAA and NAIA college programs in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin enjoy a strong relationship with adidas, including Minnesota State Colleges & Universities members Winona State University, Southwest Minnesota State and Bemidji State University.  Also, Viterbo (WI) University, Crown College and St. John's (MN) University are adidas-sponsored small college athletic departments. The University of North Dakota made a splash recently with their new adidas agreement, including a new look for their nationally-prominent hockey program.

The United States Marine Corps Recruiting Station - based in Fort Snelling - will continue to be the center of operations for the MCAC/USMC partnership.  Throughout the fall, winter and spring seasons, the USMC will deliver select adidas/Nicklasson Player-of-the-Week shirts to student-athletes across the MCAC.  Also, look for USMC staff at several fall sport pre-season camps and early-season events, such as the MCAC Volleyball Crossover Tournament.  "It was outstanding to see the honor and prestige that the Marines brought to our events last year.  Athletes, fans, parents and coaches all took time to thank our USMC representatives for their service and appreciated their support of MCAC events" noted Watkins "We look to build on 2018-19 to educate our coaches and administrators to the professional development opportunities available through the USMC and to allow our student-athletes to consider all of their options after graduation from an MCAC-member college."
