Returning All-America Rutledge Named Player-to-Watch

Winona, MN-

Rochester Community & Technical College returning All-America Carrie Rutledge (Hayfield, MN) was tabbed as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player-to-Watch in the upcoming 2019 season.

Volleyball programs across the Minnesota College Athletic Conference are into their second week of pre-season training, and those in the MCAC Southern Division may find themselves chasing Rutledge and RCTC this fall.  The Yellowjackets took the 2018 MCAC Southern Division regular season title last year and swept through the NJCAA Region XIIIB tournament, earning the right to compete in the 2018 NJCAA Division III National Championships held on their home court. Rochester and coach Amber Zitzow finished third overall in the nation.

Rutledge was an offensive power for RCTC in her freshman campaign, registering 470 total kills, good for 2nd place nationally in that category.  She also averaged 4.27 Kills-per-Set, also a top ten overall mark in the NJCAA ranks.
