MCAC Volleyball: Athletes-of-the-Week

The final week of regular season play yielded the playoff field for both the Region XIIIA and Region XIIIB tournaments, as well as MCAC Volleyball Athletes-of-the-Week.  One MCAC standout also earned, NJCAA Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

                                                               The Performance:  Bailey Marty averged 6.50 digs per set for Minnesota State-Fergus Falls...the freshman from Chokio, Minnesota had 39 total digs in two Spartan wins...Marty helps lead her team to the Region XIII A tournament as the #2 seed this weekend.

                                                                The Performance:  Lauren Huchel racked up 24 kills over the course of a .500 week for VCC... the sophomore from Duluth had also had 4 aces, 26 digs... Huchel collected 5 blocks over the course of the week

The PerformanceBrekkin McCready led the Yellowjackets to a 2-0 week, capping off a 14-0 MCAC South record in 2019... the St. Charles, Minnesota sophomore had 67 set assists, good for an 11.16 assists per set average...                                                                  The Performance: First-year Raider Nicole Kortan helped CLC to a 2-0 record this past week... in six sets, the Sauk Centre product had 22 kills with only 3 errors on 31 attempts.... she also tallied three aces, two assists and 11 digs for MCAC North champion, Central Lakes
