Tony Van Acker has been tabbed to lead the inaugural athletic department at Alexandria Technical & Community College, as announced recently.
Alexandria Tech has applied for membership in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and competed in the sport of Clay Target in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference this past fall.
ATCC won the Red Division in theMCAC Clay Target Fall Championships and will be looking to compete in the NJCAA-sponsored sports of men's and women's golf, as well as eSports, in 2020-21. The College is also exploring club sport offerings in a range of activites for future students.
Van Acker serves as an instructor for Alexandria Tech for courses within the Exercise Science program. He has earned his M.S. in Sport Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse as well as a B.S. in Exercise Science, also from UW-L.
