Alexandria Tech Awarded NJCAA Membership

Winona, MN-

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has granted membership to Alexandria Technical & Community College, as announced following the April 3 NJCAA Board of Regents meeting.  Joining Alexandria Tech in new membership is Coconino Community College, a two-year college based in Flagstaff, Arizona. 

In 2019-20, Alexandria Tech competed in the sport of Clay Target in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, capturing the Red Division title at the MCAC Clay Target Fall Championships.  ATCC has announced plans to compete in the NJCAA-sponsored sports of men's and women's golf, as well as eSports, in 2020-21. The College is also exploring club sport offerings in a range of activities for students in the future.

Tony Van Acker currently serves as an instructor and has been tabbed as the assistant athletic director for Alexandria Tech; he has earned his M.S. in Sport Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse as well as a B.S. in Exercise Science, also from UW-L. Gregg Raisanen will serve as the ATCC athletic director, while Logan Martinez will lead the eSports program. Head coach for the golf teams will be Scott Dirck.
