US Marines MCAC Weekly Volleyball Honors:  Week of October 11 - 17

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly volleyball awards for the week of October 11 - 17. The weekly volleyball awards are sponsored by the U.S. Marines

#4 Rochester Community and Technical College's setter, Chelsea Lasker, earns this week's MCAC South Division Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor.  Chelsea had 120 assists in her 10 sets last week, while also hitting .235 as she led her Yellowjackets to another 3 wins.  The MCAC South Defensive Player-of-the-Week award was issued to Allison Fritz from St. Cloud Technical and Community College after she dug 53 balls in six sets for an average of 8.83 digs per set. 

The MCAC North Division Offensive Player-of-the-Week award was earned by Megan Rinicker of Central Lakes College as she had 21 kills and only 3 errors in 36 attempts for a .500 hitting efficiency on the week.  RayAnna Wolden, Mesabi Range College's libero, earned the MCAC North Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week award with her 23 digs and 11 service aces during the week.

Chelsea Lasker

Dodge Center, MN

 

 

#4 Rochester Community and Technical College setter, Chelsea Lasker, earned the weekly South Division Offensive Player-of-the-Week award with her 120 assists in 10 sets and serving an ace in her team's 3 wins.  Lasker, a freshman from Dodge Center, MN, also hit .235 with 4 kills and no errors to go along with her 12 assists per set.  

RCTC is now 19-7 on the season and 15-1 in the South Division.  The Yellowjackets now await the Region XIIIA Volleyball Tournament, which begins on October 29. 

                    

Allison Fritz

Fr. / Libero

Norwood Young America, MN

 

 

 

Allison Fritz, freshman libero for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, has been named the South Division Defensive Player-of-the-Week.  The Norwood Young America, MN native dug 53 balls in 6 sets, averaging 8.83 digs per set.  She has now broken the St. Cloud Tech digs per set record 3 times this season and helped get her team into the NJCAA Top-10.  

The Cyclones are now 15-5 overall and 11-4 in the South Division.  They play their final regular season match on Friday against Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

Kaia Strom (Setter, M State - Fergus Falls): 78 assists and 8 aces with 15 kills.

Bailey Marty (Libero, M State - Fergus Falls): 93 digs and 11 aces in 11 sets.

Kiley Nihart (Libero, RCTC): 54 digs and 5 aces in 10 sets.

Megan Rinicker

Henning, MN

 

 

Megan Rinicker earns the MCAC North Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor after hitting .500 with 21 kills on 36 swings and only 3 errors last week.  The Central Lakes College middle hitter had 7 blocks and 4 digs to go along with her 3.0 kills/set average.  Rinicker also had one ace and one assist. 

Central Lakes is now 19-9 overall and 11-0 in the North Division.  They return to the court on Friday, October 29 when the Raiders will host the Region XIIIB Volleyball Tournament.

 

RayAnna Wolden

Fr. / Libero

International Falls, MN

 

 

RayAnna Wolden earns the MCAC North Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor for Mesabi Range College. The freshman libero from International Falls, MN had 23 digs in her 7 sets and also served 11 aces last week. Wolden is now averaging 3.50 digs per set and has 238 digs on the season.  

The Norse finish the season at 5-14 overall and 4-6 in the MCAC North.

Winter Sainio (Middle Hitter, Mesabi Range): 20 kills, 12 aces, and 23 digs.

Kaelynn Kudis (Middle Hitter, Vermilion CC): 16 kills and 4 aces.

Chloe Kuznia (Setter and Rightside Hitter, Northland CTC): 13 kills and 12 digs.

Thea Baier (Setter, Vermilion CC): 34 assists and 6 aces.
