The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its volleyball athlete of the week awards for the week of September 15-21.
Ally Nelson, middle blocker for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Offensive Athlete of the Week award. Nelson had 34 kills in 12 sets and hit .321 on the week, averaging 2.83 kills per set. She also had an assist and a service ace, with five digs and six blocks in the Lady Jays' four wins. Century College libero, Madeline Robillard, earned the MCAC South Division Defensive Athlete of the Week award. Robillard had 47 digs in 12 sets, averaging 3.91 digs per set. She also had four service aces and seven assists, helping the Wood Ducks earn three wins during the week.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River middle blocker, Janne Ramakers, earned the MCAC North Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor. In ten sets, Ramakers had 18 kills, hitting .229 on the week. She had an ace, two digs, and 12 blocks as the Voyageurs went 1-1 during the week. Central Lakes College libero, Maddie Lochner, was named the MCAC North Division Defensive Athlete of the Week again this week. Lochner dug 48 balls in eight sets, averaging 6.00 digs per set. She also had two service aces and two assists during the week.
