Vermilion Community College pitcher, Louis Gerzin, has earned the MCAC Northern Division Pitcher-of-the-Week award for the week of March 27th through April 2nd.
Gerzin pitched two complete-game wins for the Ironmen, defeating Dakota College at Bottineau 7-2 on March 28th and beating the Golden Rams of Anoka Ramsey, 8-4 on April 2nd. The Ely, Mn native allowed only six hits against Anoka, while striking out 10 of the 33 batters he faced. Gerzin was just as effective against Dakota College, scattering a handful of hits over the seven innings of work and conceding only two earned runs. With Gerzin's two wins on the mound, VCC raises it's record to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the MCAC.
