Northern Division Baseball Weekly Honors Swept by Rainy

Rochester, Mn:

En route to scoring 67 runs over the course of four MCAC baseball games- and winning all four- Rainy River Community College has swept Northern Division Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for April 2-9.

Rainy River took up shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin for the weekend, and it appears that the region agreed with the visitors from up north.  Rainy River sophomore Raheem Hasan (Cincinnati, Ohio) had a career weekend at the plate.  Hasam hit .923 (12 for 13) over the four games, with a round-tripper, two doubles and nine singles. His contact hitting led to 10 RBIs, 12 runs scored  and he drew four walks in four games. While on the basepaths, he also stole six bases for the Voyagers, and runs away with MCAC Player-of-the-Week honors in the Northern Division.

Rainy was equally as dominant on the mound, as Jamie Garcia (Tucson, Az) surrendered just two hits to Western Tech across four innings for the win in Game 3 of the series.  Garcia struck out three and moved his record to 4-1 on the season for RRCC.  For his efforts, Garcia was named the MCAC Northern Division Pitcher-of-the-Week.
