Cavalier Duo Garners Pitchers-of-the-Week Honors

Rochester, Mn-

Western Technical College was looking for way to get on track for the 2017 baseball season, and a team effort on the mound by a couple of Cavaliers earned them a win over an MCAC opponent - as well as Pitchers-of-the-Week in the Southern Division.

Starter Tyler Moua went 6.1 innings in the second game of the doubleheader against Riverland C.C.; a NJCAA squad receiving votes in the latest National poll.  Moua scattered four hits over those six-plus innings, striking out six and facing 31 batters overall.  With a 4-1 lead heading into to the seventh, and beginning to tire,  Moua turned the ball over to Wallace to - hopefully - preserve the first win for Western Tech on the 2017 campaign.

Wallace rose to the challenge, and while Riverland was able to pull to within 5-4, Western held on for a one-run victory.  While only being responsible for two outs, Wallace's clutch appearance, on top of Moua's solid start, earned the WTC duo Pitchers-of-the-Week for April 10-16.
