Hibbing Cardinal Nets National Honor

Derrick Calvillo, a baseball student-athlete at Hibbing Community College, wasted no time getting his 2019 season off to a good start and the NJCAA has rewarded him for his efforts.

Calvillo was named the NJCAA Division III National Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, March 10.  The freshman catcher from Tucson, Arizona delivered a .500 batting average, nine runs batted in and was a solid defensive presence for HCC on their spring trip.
