The 2019 football season in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference has produced the Week One MCAC Athletes-of-the-Week.   Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

Eastern Division Football Athlete-of-the-Week Offense	Jakob Olson Quarterback Bismarck, ND
	The Performance:  Jakob Olson threw for five touchdowns in CLC's 49-13 win over Vermilion...Passed for 246 total yards...Had a longest throw of 52 yards on the day

 

Eastern Division Football Athlete-of-the-Week Defense	Tavian Edwards Freshman Linebacker Columbus, GA
	The Performance:  Tavian Edwards accumulated seven tackles in a win over M State-Fergus Falls...Six of his stops were solo tackles...He also registered a sack and had two tackles for loss on the day...Edwards also forced a fumble

 

Eastnern Division Football Athlete-of-the-Week Lineman	Jericho Siegle Sophomore Defensive Line St. Micheal-Albertville, MN
	Notable:  Jericho Siegle dominated the Mesabi Range defensive line in a 27-10 Norse victory over Northland...Siegle had six tackles, three solo stops and three assists...Siegle and the MRC defense held Pioneer running game to 24 yards of total net yards on the ground

 

Eastern Division Football Athlete-of-the-Week Special Teams	Rashaun Cage Running Back / Kick Returner Burnsville, MN
	The Performance: Cage returned a Vermilion kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown in the CLC 49-13 win... Cage had three kickoff returns on the day for a total of 111 yards ...averaged 37.0 yards per touch on Raiders special teams
