Key Divisional Contests Featured in MCAC Football

Winona, MN-

The first football weekend of October in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference offers several programs the opportunity to cement places in the MCAC post-season, as all but one team take part in Divisional contests.

Two MCAC Eastern Division teams are found in the NJCAA Top 20 Football poll, with unbeaten Mesabi Range College currently #17 and Itasca Community College in the 'Receiving Votes' category.  Every contest on October 5 is a Divisional game, presenting an important two points in the standings.

In the MCAC Western Division, front-runner North Dakota State College of Science is scheduled to play Northland Community & Technical College for a pivotal game; a Wildcat victory would give NDSCS the inside track for home field advantage through the post-season. A win by the Pioneers would level the two squads at 2-1 in the Western Division standings. The contest orginally scheduled for 1:30pm in Thief River Falls has tentatively been moved to East Grand Forks High School at 6pm, due to field conditions, pending confirmation of officials.

Stay posted to MCAC social media platforms for updates on the NDSCS-Northland contest.
