Rainy River 101, Mesabi Range 79

At International Falls, the Norsemen held a 40-33 lead at the half, but Rainy River turned the tables in the second half and cruised to a 101-79 victory.

The change in momentum came after sophomore guard Laurel Ladd suffered a concussion late in the first stanza and missed the rest of the contest.

The backbreaker for Mesabi came early in the second half when Rainy River went on a 16-1 immediately after intermission. The Voyageurs were also on fire as they shot 71 percent from the field and 62 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.

Mesabi (8-10 overall, 2-5 in the North) play at Fond du Lac on Saturday.
