Central Lakes, Rochester Earn Player-of-the-Week Awards in Men's Hoops

The following student-athletes have been named Player-of-the-Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference in men's basketball for the week ending on Sunday,  11/19.

Southern Division

Player-of-the-Week:  

Jumah'ri Turner   

Sophomore

Rochester CTC 

       

In a pair of Yellowjacket victories over NJCAA Division II foe Dakota County and the Bethany Lutheran JV squad, Jumah'Ri Turner (Bloomington, MN) averaged 27.5 points per contest to move RCTC's 2017-18 record to 3-0 on the year.  The sophomore guard hit from the field at a 63% clip, while also averaging four rebounds and 4.5 assists in the victories.  

 

Turner and his Rochester CTC teammates will next be in action on Tuesday, October 21st when they host Madison Area Technical College.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.                                                                      

 

 

Northern Division

Player-of-the-Week:

Keonte' Jenkins

Sophomore

    Central Lakes College

     

Central Lakes College guard  Keonte' Jenkins  (Fort Wayne, IN) lit up the scoreboard in early season action for the Raiders last week.   Jenkins averaged 33.5 points per game across two contests, helping lead CLC to a 1-1 weekend, losing 95-89 to United Tribes Technical College and defeating Northeast Community College 78-77.   In addition to having a hot shooting hand, Jenkins also averaged three rebounds per contest and dished out eight total assists.  

 

Jenkins and Central Lakes will take to the court next against MCAC South foe Ridgewater College in Willmar at 7:30pm. The Raiders currently are 2-1 overall on the 2017-18 season.
