A pair of men's basketball student-athletes put together impressive performances this past week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, including an important career milestone for Keonte' Jenkins (Central Lakes College) and a solid pair of games for Malik El-Amin (Anoka-Ramsey CC).

Sophomore Guard |
Keonte' Jenkins, a sophomore guard at Central Lakes College, passed a significant career milestone behind two solid games this week and has earned the Northern Division Player-of-the-Week award in the process. Jenkins, a Horizon High School product from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, logged over sixty minutes this past week, chipping in 16 points and 17 points respectively for his CLC Raider squad in contests against Itasca CC and Northland CTC. Jenkins all-around play included a seven-assist performance against ICC and a seven rebound day against NCTC. Jenkins was a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line against the Pioneers and was 14-of-15 in free throws for the week. Jenkins also passed the 1,000 point mark as Raider, a two-year career span that included multiple Player-of-the-Week honors and All-Conference and All-Region accolades as a freshman. Central Lakes will take on Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College and Hibbing Community College in the final week of the MCAC regular season. |

Sophomore Guard |
Malik El-Amin, a sophomore guard for Division-leading Anoka-Ramsey Community College had a strong all-around week for the Golden Ram and has been tabbed the Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending on February, . El-Amin, from North High School in Minneapolis, had 44 points in two games, including a 31 point outburst against Minnesota West on Saturday. El-Amin also dished out six assists to teammates against the Blue Jays and hauled in a pair of rebounds. Overall for the week, El-Amin had nine assists, five rebounds and a pair of blocks to go with his 44 point scoring spree. He hit 6-of-12 from three-point land for the week for the Golden Rams. Anoka-Ramsey will close out it's regular season with contests against RCTC and Ridgewater College this week. The MCAC men's basketball tournament will be held on March 2-3-4 at the Coon Rapids campus of ARCC. |
