RCTC downs MnWest in Men's Hoops; State Tournament seeds completed

Rochester Community & Technical College defeated Minnesota West CTC 89 - 71 in men's basketball action on Sunday, February 25, completing the 2017-18 regular season schedule in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. 

With the win, RCTC cemented their second place finish in the Southern Division and will head to the 2018 MCAC / NJCAA Region XIII men's basketball with the #2 seed in the south.  Despite the setback, Minnesota West will also advance to the State Tournament, earning the fourth seed in the South on virtue of a 8-6 record, one spot ahead of fifth place M State Fergus Falls at 5-9.  

The Northern Division was able to dodge the weather-related issues that affected the Southern contents;  Rainy River, Vermilion Community College, Central Lakes College and Mesabi Range College all will head to Coon Rapids, Minnesota and the campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College for the right to win the State Tournament Championship and advance to the 2017-18 NJCAA Division III National Championships. 

Rainy River Community College, with a 12-2 MCAC North mark and Anoka-Ramsey Community College, also at 12-2, will compete as the #1 Northern and #1 Southern Division seeds, respectively.
