Pair of MCAC Men's Basketball Players Named to All-America Team

A pair of men's basketball student-athletes from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference have been honored with All-America status by the NJCAA, following the conclusion of the NJCAA Annual Meetings this past week. 

Rochester Community & Technical College standout Jumah'Ri Turner and Anoka-Ramsey Community College sophomore Kevin Schramm  were named to the NJCAA Division III Third Team and Honorable Mention Team, respectively. 

Jumah'Ri Turner,  averaged 22 points a contest, good for second in the MCAC and was one of the top athletes from the charity stripe in the Conference, connecting on 84.6% of his free throws.  Turner poured in 593 points this past season, good for third overall among MCAC schools.  A sophomore from Bloomington, Turner led RCTC to an 11-3 Southern Division record and a 24-5 overall mark.  Rochester advanced to the consolation championship of the MCAC State / NJCAA Region XIII Tournament, where they defeated Vermilion Community College 99-94 to claim third place in the competition.

Kevin Schramm was instrumental in helping his Golden Ram team battle their way to the MCAC State / NJCAA Region XIII Tournament championship, where they fell 89-62 to Minnesota West CTC.  Schramm's balanced performance over the course of the season included playing the second-most minutes in the league (942) and leading the Conference in defensive rebounds (225) and was second in overall rebounding.  The sophomore from Roseville was fourth in the MCAC in total points (561) and started every contest for Anoka-Ramsey in 2017-18.  He also dished out 97 assists during the year while hitting 64 of his 163 three-point attempts.
