Men's Basketball Teams Set for Crossover Contests

Rochester, MN-

Men's and women's basketball teams from around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference head into the first weekend of Conference action, as the 2018 MCAC Crossover contests will occur Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.  Teams from the Southern and Northern Division will compete against each other Friday and Saturday as a part of their preparations for Divisional play in December and January.   MCAC games played over the next two weekends between Conference teams will count in their regular season standings only. 

Riverland Community College and St. Cloud Technical & Community College are off to a strong start on the season, with the Blue Devils sporting a 5-1 mark and SCTCC is the league's only remaining unbeaten team at 4-0.  Northern Division squads Vermilion Community College and Northland Community & Technical College both have picked up three wins on the year as well, with VCC sitting at 3-1 and the Pioneers at 3-2 overall. 

Minnesota West CTC student-athlete  Deshawn Pickford lead the Conference in points per contest at 25.8, while the SCTCC Cyclone team is scoring more than a 100 points a contest, with a four-game average of 100.8 in their undefeated run so far.  Curtis Bell leads Vermilion in scoring at 16.5 points per contest and fellow Ironman Devontaye Spates is grabbing 10.5 rebounds an outing.  Northland Pioneer Z'Mari Minter is averaging a double-double, scoring 14.6 points and collecting 10.2 boards a contest.
