Crossover Competition Wraps Up Saturday, 12/8

Rochester, MN-

Saturday, December 8 marks the final day of play in the Crossover series between Northern and Southern Division basketball teams in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference

Men's and women's programs from the Southern Division will again be on the road today with several squads looking to stay in the mix for NJCAA National Top 10 consideration and two teams - SCTCC men and Hibbing women -  hoping to remain unbeaten. 

In men's basketball, St. Cloud Technical & Community College moved to 7-0 on the year with a 86-77 win over Itasca Community College while Riverland Community College is 8-1 this season, having defeated Vermilion on Friday, December 7, 84-68.   Central Lakes handed Minnesota West a 85-69 setback to rise to 4-2 so far in 2018-19 and will face Ridgewater on Saturday, December 8 to compete their Crossover contests.

In women's basketball, Western Technical College beat previously undefeated Rainy River Community College 86-76 on the road in International Falls on Friday, December 7.  The Cavaliers will seek to sweep their road trip with a game at Hibbing today;  HCC sits alone as the only unbeaten women's program after a 98-53 home win over Rochester Community & Technical College. In Thief River Falls, Northland defended home court with a convincing 75-50 victory over M State-Fergus Falls yesterday, while Anoka-Ramsey's women's team won 83-55 over Mesabi Range on the road.
