MCAC Men's Basketball Players-of-the-Week

Teams from around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference entered the middle of January with an eye towards the NJCAA post-season as several impactful contests took place last week around the state.  The top performers in those MCAC contests have earned MCAC Player-of-the-Week in their respective Divisions for the week ending Sunday, January 13. 

MCAC Northern Division

Chris Buckley     

Soph. / Guard

Chris Buckley, a sophomore guard at Central lakes College from Coon Rapids, Minnesota has been tabbed as the Player-of-the-Week in the Northern Division. 

In a pair of MCAC victories, Buckley tallied 49 total points on 19-of-33 shooting, including a 3-for-3 effort from the foul line and 6-for-13 three point shooting.  In 51 minutes of work, Buckley had six assists and six steals. 

Central Lakes and Buckley will next be in action when they take on Vermilion Community College on Wednesday, January 16. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm in Ely. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MCAC Southern Division 

Player-of-the-Week

Jalen Dunlap 

Soph. / Guard

Houston, TX

                                                                         

Jalen Dunlap averaged over 30 points a game in two key MCAC Southern Division match-ups this past week for Anoka-Ramsey and has earned MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for his efforts. 

In leading the Golden Rams to a win over nationally-ranked SCTCC and logging 43 minutes in a two-point overtime loss to MnWest, Dunlap scored 61 total points.  The sophomore guard from Houston, Texas averaged 2.5 steals a game and hauled in seven total rebounds for the week. 

ARCC is currently 1-1 in league play and are 8-7 overall in 2018-19.  The Golden Rams will face off against M State-Fergus Falls on Wednesday, January 16.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm
