Rochester, MN-

In the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, men's basketball teams in the Northern Division quickly found themselves chasing Central Lakes College as the Raiders racked up early season wins to run away from the pack.   Two teams tied for the fourth and final spot in the playoffs,  with Itasca Community College losing out to Northland Community and Technical College for the last post-season berth, as the Pioneers win over Rainy River Community College was enough to put them through.   Mesabi Range College put together a solid 2018-19 season and were rewarded with a #2 spot in the Region XIII tournament for their efforts.   FDLTCC featured one of the MCAC's top individual scorers while Vermilion Community College saw long-time coach and mentor Paul McDonald move into his next chapter of life as he retired from college coaching.  Lake Superior College fielded basketball teams for the first time in 2018-19 and Hibbing will look to rebuild under first-year coach Paul Ciochetto.   Coach-of-the-Year honors in the Northern Division, as voted on by Division coaches, went to Jim Russell at Central Lakes College.

The 14-player MCAC Northern All-Division selections - as nominated by and voted on by Conference coaches - has been named and is available at this link as well as listed below.
