Buckley Named NPOW; Central Lakes tabbed No. 8 in Championships

Rochester, MN- 

Central Lakes College Raider basketball student-athlete Chris Buckley has been tabbed the NJCAA Division III Player-of-the-Week in men's hoops, in large part to his tremendous performance in the 2018-19 NJCAA Region XIII Championship. 

Buckley scored 31 points in CLC's 88-81 victory over Riverland Community College; with the win, the Raiders took home the Region XIII championship hardware and an automatic bid to the 2018-19 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, held March 14-16 in Rochester, Minnesota. 

Buckley had three consecutive outings of strong offensive numbers, scoring 24, 21 and 31 points in the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds, respectively.  He also had a total of 16 assists to CLC teammates and hauled in 12 rebounds over the weekend. 

Central Lakes was tabbed as the No. 8 seed by the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Committee for the upcoming National Tournament held on the campus of fellow MCAC program Rochester Community & Technical CollegeCentral Lakes will try to accomplish something no other team has done in the 2018-19 season; beat Suffolk County CC.  

Suffolk County garnered the No. 1 seed for the Championships and currently sit at 27-0 on the season.  The Raiders and the Sharks will tip off at 7pm Thursday, March 14 at the Regional Sports Center in Rochester.
