The second and final weekend of Inter-Divisional play in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference has yielded the Athletes-the-Week in MCAC men's basketball. 

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

Southern Division 

Athlete-of-the-Week

Travis Henderson

Freshman / Guard

Orlando, FL

                                                         

The Performance:   Freshman Travis Henderson had a strong week for Ridgewater College, who quietly has put together an 8-2 record as they head into in what looks to be a highly competitive MCAC Southern Division race. 

The Orlando, Florida product had 27 points, three steals a pair of assists and six rebounds in a 91-85 win over Vermilion. He followed that up with a 18 point night against Mesabi Range, grabbing another seven boards and notching three assists. 

For the week, Henderson had 45 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals to lead Ridgewater.

Athlete-of-the-Week

Bakri Gubara

Sophomore / Guard

Nashville, TN 
          

 

The Performance:   Northland sophomore guard Bakri Gubara put together a pair of outstanding offensive performances this past weekend and has been selected as the men's basketball Athlete-of-the-Week in the MCAC Northern Division. 

Against Rochester Community & Technical College, Gubara tallied 32 points in 37 minutes of action, while also grabbing four steals and four rebounds.  The following evening against Western Technical College, the Nashville, Tennessee product had 24 points, ten rebounds and four helpers to Pioneer teammates.

In total, Gubara had 56 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and swiped five steals.
