CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. — Nick Moe, a standout golfer at Mesabi Range College recently wrapped up his highly successful 2016-17 season at the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.
The 2014 Eveleth-Gilbert product fired a 330 over the four days and finished in a tie for 45th, with approximately 90 participants in the field.
Moe turned in a standout performance representing the Norsemen during the MCAC/Region XIII competition this past fall at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, which allowed him to punch his ticket to the national competition this June.
The spring conditions in upstate New York were less than ideal to start the national tournament on Tuesday, with rain affecting play on the first day, but giving way to more favorable climate as the competition progressed.
Joining Moe on the course as an individual participant was Ben Abrahamson of MCAC rival Hibbing Community College, as well as the full team from M-State Fergus Falls, who qualified for the team portion of the championship.
