Abrahamson competes with nation's best at NJCAA National tournament

Rochester, Mn--

A stellar golf season has come to end for Hibbing Community College student-athlete Ben Abrahamson.

Abrahamson turned in a strong individual performance for HCC this past fall in the MCAC/Region XIII District tournament, qualifying him for a trip to the NJCAA Division III Golf National Championships, held in Chautauqua, New York over this past week.

Competing amongst the top golf talent found in NJCAA Division III programs, Abrahamson shot a solid 339 over the four days.   Consistency was key for Cardinal duffer, turning in scores of 84, 84, 85 and 86, respectively.  Abrahamson was joined on the course by Nick Moe, who also qualified as an individual representing Mesabi Range College, and the full team of Minnesota State-Fergus Falls, who finished in third place overall.   Abrahamson was tied at 60th with  Brett Puhl of Ann Aruendel CC and MCAC compatriot,  Kyle Boe, of Minnesota State.
