Lake Superior earns MCAC Win

Duluth, MN

In Minneosota College Athletic Conference men's soccer action, Lake Superior College hosted Riverland Community College in Duluth on a sunny fall afternoon.  The host Icehawks rode strong goalscoring and a balanced attack to come away with a key MCAC victory.

The IceHawks barely had time to catch their breath as they initiated wave after wave of attack, resulting in a school record of 7 goals. All 7 of those goals were scored by Malley Lumsden (Jamaica). Individuals recording assists were Tyler Moen (Proctor), Daniel Cubides (Colombia), Gustavo (Brazil), and Tresor Sumbwe (Fargo). The IceHawks came out firing in this game and built a three goal lead through the First half. Despite letting their guard down and watching a 4-1 lead diminish to 4-3 the IceHawks persevered and got back to their scoring ways with 3 more in the middle of the second half. On the whole it was not the best team performance that the men had played this season but the high powered offense answered every question that Riverland could throw at them and Lumsden finished chance after chance with aplomb.

The IceHawks with play their last home game this Saturday at Lincoln Park Middle School. Come out and cheer them as they look to continue their dominant performance against Century College.
