Anoka Ramsey Soccer earns #10 spot in both NJCAA polls

Rochester, Mn-

The NJCAA recently released the Division III Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer preseason polls, and one could be excused if it seemed that there was a 'mirror-image' at play when reviewing the results.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College claimed the #10 spot in both the Men's and Women's polls, as all NJCAA Divsion III programs gear up for the 2017 seasons.  In the Men's poll, defending champion Richland (Tx) College had top honors, while SUNY Broome - 2016 National Champions - was voted the top women's team.

The duplicity for Anoka-Ramsey doesn't end with the preseason poll, either.  Head coach Brady Eichorn-Hicks is at the helm for both Anoka-Ramsey programs, with assistant coach Ben Harrison working with the two squads.

The Golden Ram women's team earned both Region XIII and District championships in 2016, and saw three student-athletes (Makayla Halford, Jessica Miller-Ulmer and Rochelle Perzel) earn All-American status.

The Anoka-Ramsey men's team has familiarity with the top-ranked Richland College ThunderDucks - ARCC fell to Richland in the 2016 District final, 2-0, on a pair of first half RCC goals.  In 2016, Anoka finished with a 14-3 overall mark.

Both Golden Ram teams will open up the 2017 season at Iowa Lakes Community College on Saturday, August 26th.  The women will kickoff at 5pm, with the men's match scheduled for 7pm.

An early-season MCAC test for both teams will come on Monday, August 28th, when Anoka-Ramsey hosts Conference foe Lake Superior College at 1pm (women) and 3pm (men).
