Region XIII Soccer Competitions Set

The men's and women's soccer seasons have yielded the 2018 NJCAA Region XIII Tournament participants and the Golden Rams of Anoka-Ramsey Community College have earned the top seed in both competitions. 

In men's soccer, the ARCC squad currently sits at 8-7 overall and registered a 4-1 MCAC mark.  The lone Anoka-Ramsey loss in the MCAC slate was a 2-0 setback to Lake Superior College on Sunday, September 16.  As the No. 1 seed, ARCC will host No. 4 Minnesota West CTC,  a team which is in the first year of sponsoring a varsity men's soccer program.  The other semi-final shall feature the No. 2 Lake Superior College Ice Hawks hosting No. 3 Riverland Community CollegeLake Superior has two contests yet to play, including a MCAC match against Minnesota West, but hold the tiebreaking criteria.  Riverland sits 4-5-1 on the year and 1-3 in MCAC play.  The highest seed remaining after the October 17 semi-finals shall serve as the host school for the finals, to be played on October 21. 

In women's soccer, Anoka-Ramsey Community College also will have the top spot after posting two wins over both other MCAC women's soccer programs.

ARCC defeated Lake Superior College by 3-0 and 5-0 scorelines and racked up a pair of victories over Rochester Community & Technical College by 4-1 and 9-0 margins this fall. Overall, Anoka-Ramsey sits an impressive 10-2-1 and 4-0-0 in league play.  The Golden Rams will host the Region XIII women's soccer championship on October 21, where they will play the winner of No. 2 Lake Superior College and No. 3 RCTC.  The No. 2 IceHawks (2-5-1) and the No. 3 Yellowjackets (0-7-2) will face off in a semi-final match on October 18 at Lake Superior College, time and field to be determined.
