The warm weekend of April 7-8-9 allowed several MCAC softball programs to compete, both in league play as well non-conference action.
The festivities began on Friday, April 7th, with Ridgewater College dropping a pair of games to Minnesota State Fergus-Falls by 9-0 and 7-4 scorelines.
Mesabi Range College enjoyed one of the best weekends of league schools, defeating Vermilion Community College 11-1 on Saturday as well as dispatching Hibbing 12-1 in their second game on the day. Hibbing came back for more on Sunday against Mesabi, only to fall 12-4 and 19-11 in the twinbill. Overall, Mesabi scored 54 runs on the weekend.
Itasca Community College earned a non-conference split with Dakota College - Bottineau, winning game one 6-5 but dropping the second game 12-7. Central Lakes College fell to Anoka Ramsey Community College, 6-1 and 12-11. Anoka has won their last 12 games and have a key series with St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday. Minnesota State-Fergus Falls continued their winning ways from Friday, taking two wins from Minnesota West, with the Spartans earning 2-1 and 11-1 wins over the LadyJays.
Earlier in the week, Rainy River Community College picked up two wins over Northland CTC, taking game one 13-10 and game two, 9-1, with those contests occuring on Tuesday, April 4th.
