Rochester, Mn-
Heading into the Easter holiday, Riverland Community College softball student-athlete Allison Sharp seemed ready to celebrate a bit early as she and her squad took on Ridgewater College. Sharp put together a great performance for the Blue Devils both from the plate and the pitching circle over the week of April 10-16, and has been named the Athlete-of-the-Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division.
As a pitcher, Sharp struck out four Ridgewater batters, walked only one and led her RCC team to a 10-2 victory. She scattered six hits across the 25 hitters faced and conceded two earned runs. If pitching well wasn't enough, Sharp also had 3 RBI's in game one to lead Riverland in that category. In game two, the Cold Spring, Mn native gave up the mound, but kept up the focus at the plate, going 3-for-4 in game two, scoring a run and knocking in a RBI as well.
Riverland CC puts their two-game winning streak on the line when they host #3 St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Friday, April 21st.
