Divisional Play Highlights MCAC Softball Action this Weekend

A big weekend is in store for Minnesota College Athletic Conference softball teams as squads look to earn some breathing room as they move towards the post-season. 

On Friday, April 21st, Minnesota State and Minnesota West will square off in Worthington in a MCAC Southern Division double header, with both teams looking to make up some ground on division co-leaders Anoka-Ramsey Community College and St. Cloud Technical and Community College.  SCTCC, currently ranked 5th in the national NJCAA poll, will take on Riverland Community College on Friday as well, as they travel to Austin to take on the Blue Devils. 

A full slate awaits on Saturday, April 22nd with action in both the Northern and Southern Divisions. Eighth-ranked Mesabi Range will face ninth-ranked Itasca CC in a noon/2pm double header, representing a key series in Northern Division play.  Fellow Northern teams Northland CTC and Central Lakes will compete in an early afternoon twinbill to be held in Thief River Falls.  Saturday will also see #6 Anoka Ramsey travel to Riverland, while Minnesota West hosts Ridgewater in the South.  

The weekend will close out with contests between Central Lakes - Rainy River, Mesabi Range - Hibbing and Vermilion-Itasca.  Each of the Northern division doubleheader match-ups have noon and 2pm start times.
