Cyclones Storm to Sweep of Weekly Honors

Cyclones Storm to Sweep of Weekly Honors

Rochester, Mn-

In a week in which they moved into sole possession of first place in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division, the St. Cloud Technical and Community College softball team can add another feather to their cap- a sweep of the MCAC Southern Division Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards.

SCTCC sophomore center fielder Chloe Callahan (Maple Lake, Mn) went 8-for-12 from the plate, scored nine runs and drove in another seven over the course of victories against Minnesota State-Fergus Falls and Riverland Community College, to earn Southern Division Player-of-the-Week honors.

Cyclone pitcher Ashley Pool, a freshman from Zimmerman,  earned two wins over the week to take a tightly contested Pitcher-of-the-Week recognition.   Pool's two wins for the Cyclones included a five strikeout, one hit performance against Riverland, a 14-0 whitewash for SCTCC.  She also pitched the full seven innings in an outing against Minnesota State,  conceding only one run and five hits, while striking out seven Spartan batters.

Callahan, Pool and their Cyclone teammates will face Anoka Ramsey CC in a key showdown on Tuesday, April 25th, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30pm in St. Cloud.
