MCAC Softball Players-of-the-Week

MCAC Softball Players-of-the-Week

Rochester, MN-

Snow still covers the ground in most of Minnesota, but that did not stop several MCAC softball squads from getting in some early season action at domes across the state and several warm-weather locales in Florida and South Carolina.  A pair of softball standouts excelled in the first full week of games and have been tabbed 'Player-of-the-Week' for their efforts.

       NORTHERN DIVISION

Lisa Kossan

Shortstop

Central Lakes College

Lisa Kossan ,  a freshman shortstop from Staples, Minnesota, who competes for Central Lakes College has earned the Northern Division Player-of-the-Week to open the 2018 MCAC Spring softball season.

Kossan was a force at the plate for the Raiders, punching in with a .615 batting average in her first college contests.  Her strong week included four doubles and two round-trippers.  One of her home runs was a grand-slam, which accounted for a third of her 12 RBI's on the week.

Central Lakes will look to build on Kossan's great start with contests this week at the Irish Dome in Rosemont, Minnesota, where they will face Itasca Community College, Hibbing Community College and St. Cloud Technical & Community College, as well as some NJCAA Division II and NCAA four-year JV opponents.
