Mother Nature intervened to create a very light week of softball action in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference between April 1 and April 7, with snow and cold temperatures still affecting much of the state. However a handful of teams were able to converge on Rochester CTC to make use of the UCR dome and those contests produced both Southern Division honorees.
With no games played among Northern Division squads, no nominees were submitted for Player-of-the-Week honors from the Northern Division.

Lindsey Swanson, a sophomore from Mounds View, Minnesota, was stellar both from the pitching circle and the batters box for Anoka-Ramsey Community College and has collected MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week honors for her efforts. Offensively, Swanson had three home runs over the course of two contests for the Golden Rams and belted a total of 11 RBI's between a 20-2 win over Riverland and in a 18-0 win over RCTC. Swanson currently has six home runs on the year, good for third overall in the MCAC. As a pitcher, Swanson worked 10 innings, giving up only seven hits and three runs total. She notched 15 strikeouts, had only three walks and is credited with a 2.1 ERA for the week. ARCC is scheduled to play St. Cloud Technical and Community College on Tuesday, April 10, in a match-up of the top two records so far in the Southern Division. ARCC is currently 15-8 on the year, while SCTCC is 16-9-1. |

SCTCC Cyclone hurler Regan Jastram earned a shut-out win against Rochester Community & Technical College over the weekend, leading her team to a 6-0 whitewashing of the Yellowjackets on April 6. Jastram also tallied a 15-4 victory over Riverland Community College the next day, going 2-0 on the weekend and earning Pitcher-of-the-Week honors in the Southern Division. The freshman from West Fargo, North Dakota conceded only four hits in seven innings of work, while walking only one batter against RCTC. In the defeat of Riverland Community College, Jastram scattered eight hits over five innings, while striking out one. Against RCTC, Jastram struck out six batters over the course of the day and with both wins, helped St. Cloud Technical and Community College raise it's overall record to 16-9-1. The Cyclones are 8-2 over their last ten contests. SCTCC is scheduled to play Anoka-Ramsey Community College on Tuesday, April 10, in a showdown of the top two records in the Southern Division. ARCC is currently 15-8 on the year. |
