In capturing the 2018 NJCAA Region XIIIB softball championship, several Itasca Community College Viking student-athletes were recognized for their performance at the competition hosted by Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota. Top seed and regular season champion CLC grabbed several spots on the honorary team while Northland Community & Technical College and Mesabi Range College saw some of their standouts honored as well. ICC head coach Kyle Erickson was tabbed as the Region XIIIB Coach-of-the-Year for guiding the #2 seeded Vikings past previously-unbeaten Central Lakes College and on to the national stage.
The Itasca Community College season will continue this week in Rochester, Minnesota, where they will join Herkimer County Community College, Monroe Community College, North Dakota State College of Science, Brookdale Community College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Rock Valley College and Suffolk County Community College.
