MCAC Softball Weekly Honors

Several student-athletes turned in strong performances to help their teams in the quest for a post-season berth.  The best of those have been tabbed as Pitcher or Player-of-the-Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference softball ranks. 

 

Northern Division

Player & Pitcher-of-the-Week

Itasca Freshman Mackie Dostal, MCAC Northern Division Player-of-the-Week

Big Lake, MN

 

Mackie Dostal, a middle infielder for Itasca Community College has earned MCAC Northern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, May 5. 

Dostal was 15-for-23 at the plate for the Vikings, scoring eight runs for her team over the course of the week. The freshman from Big Lake collected ample extra bases for ICC, belting three home runs and three doubles, while driving in 11 RBI's. 

 

Mariah Stueness

Gary, MN

Mariah Stueness, a freshman from Gary, Minnesota playing at Northland Community & Technical College has earned MCAC Northern Division Pitcher-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, May 5. 

Stueness pitched in three Pioneer games this week, winning all three for her team.  In contests against Northern Division foes Mesabi Range, Itasca and Hibbing, Stueness pitched 17 innings and gave up only five earned runs on the week.  She struck out nine while walking only five, registering a 2.05 ERA for the week. She also was a force at the plate, collecting 10 hits in 19 plate appearances, including a home run, a double and ten RBI's. 

 

 

 

 

Southern Division 

Player & Pitcher-of-the-Week

Sam Patton

1st Year / Pitcher

Sauk Rapids, MN

 

Sam Patton, a 1st year pitcher at St. Cloud Technical & Community College, as been selected as the MCAC Southern Division Pitcher-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, May 5. 

 

Patton won three Cyclone contests and picked up a save for SCTCC last week. In each of her starts, the Sauk Rapids product limited her opponent to just one base hit in the contest.  Patton racked up 26 strikeouts in 22.2 total innings for her squad. 

 

Bailey Zenk

 

 

                                  

 

Anoka-Ramsey Community College freshman Bailey Zenk continues to impress for the Golden Rams and has been tabbed MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, May 5. 

Zenk went 17-for-24 at the plate, belting six home runs and two doubles.  She drove in an amazing 23 RBI's over the course of the week for ARCC. Her performance included a 4-for-4 outing against Riverland Community College.
