Rainy River and Minnesota West Athletes Tabbed for Honors

The following student-athletes have been named Player-of-the-Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference in women's basketball for the week ending on Sunday, 11/19.

In a trio of Voeyguer contests over the past week, Rainy River Community College freshman Daeja Monroe (Cypress Falls, TX) scored an average of 28 points per contest to help her team go 2-1 to start 2017.  Monroe, a forward, hit from three-point land at a 50% clip, while also averaging 6.7 rebounds and two assists in the victories.  Monroe's field goal percentage was 63.5% for the week. 

 

Monroe and her Rainy River teammates will next be in action on Friday, December 1st when they travel to St. Cloud Technical & Community College  Tip-off is set for 6:45pm.

Minneosta West CTC forward Andrea Hinkeldey (Heron Lake, MN) found her scoring form in early season action for the Lady Jays last week.  Hinkeldey hit for 23 points against Iowa Lakes Community College, helping lead MnWest to strong start to the season.  In addition to having a hot shooting hand, Hinkeldey also had seven rebounds in the contest, dished out a pair of assists and registered a steal. 

 

Andrea Hinkeldey  and Minnesota West will take to the court against the JV team of Gustavus Adolfus in Worthington on Tuesday, November 28th at 7pm. The Lady Jays currently are 3-1 overall on the 2017-18 season.
