Fans of women's basketball in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference will have the opportunity to get an early season preview into MCAC favorites and contenders as teams turn an eye towards NJCAA Region Tournament qualification in February.
In the MCAC ranks this weekend, games featuring teams from both the Northern and Southern Division will be conducted in a Friday evening -Saturday afternoon format.

Central Lakes @ RCTC Rochester, MN |
Central Lakes makes the downstate trek on Friday to Rochester CTC. The Raiders are off to a good start at 3-1, with their only loss to an NJCAA Division II opponent in overtime. Sam Schimpp scored 20 points last time out for CLC. Rochester is a perfect 4-0 on the season and Olivia Haug claimed Player-of-the-Week honors in the most recent weekly poll. Central Lakes will travel to Western Tech on Saturday. |

Hibbing @ M State Fergus Falls, MN |
The Hibbing Community College Cardinals are looking to keep their early season momentum going when travel to Fergus Falls to face the Spartans of M State on December 1. April Hudelson was named a NJCAA national player of the week on November 28 for Hibbing. The Spartans (0-4) will be looking to get their season on track; Kassandra Algarate had 17 points off the bench in their most recent contest. On Saturday, M State hosts Rainy River while Hibbing travels to St. Cloud Technical & Community College. |

Mesabi Range @ Minnesota West Worthington, MN |
On Friday, Mesabi Range College makes the cross-state trek to Worthington where they will face the Minnesota West CTC Lady Jays. Mesabi Range is searching for their second win on the season, sitting at 1-2 to start 2017. MRC athlete Megan Aho led all scorers with 16 points in their last outing against Hibbing. Veteran Lady Jay head coach Rosalie Hayenga has got her squad out to a 3-1 start to the year. MRC will travel to Riverland in Austin on Saturday, while Minnesota West will host Vermilion. |

Itasca @ Anoka-Ramsey Coon Rapids, MN |
Anoka-Ramsey Community College, a 2016-17 national tournament participant, hosts Itasca Community College in Coon Rapids on Friday. Amanda Lindsay is coming off of a strong performance for Golden Rams, scoring 24 points on NJCAA Division II Gogebic Community College on November 11. Itasca (3-2) are playing very well offensively, averaging 72.0 points per game so far this winter. ARCC will host Northland CTC on Saturday, while ICC will travel to Riverland. |

Northland @ Riverland Austin, MN |
Northland Community & Technical College travels the length of the state to take on Riverland Community College in Austin. The Pioneers earned a berth to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2016-17 and are 3-2 so far this year. Megan Swedberg leads NCTC in scoring at 14.0 points per game and grabs nearly 10 rebounds per contest. Riverland picked up their first win of 2017-18, a 92-38 triumph over Saint Mary's JV on Monday. Samantha Siskow had 16 points for RCC in the victory. NCTC will face Anoka-Ramsey on Saturday while Riverland will host Itasca. |

Rainy River @ SCTCC St. Cloud, MN |
The Cyclones host the Voyageurs in a Friday evening match-up. SCTCC is 1-4 but have played a tough early season schedule against several NJCAA Division II teams. First year head coach James Fassett picked up his first win 80-73 over Madison College on November 11. Rainy River is 2-1 on the year and are coming off a 93-74 win over Itasca in which Daeja Monroe scored 33 points. |

Vermilion @ Ridgewater Wilmar, MN |
The Vermilion Ironwomen will travel to Wilmar to take on Ridgewater College Friday evening. The Warriors opened up with a .500 record so far in 2017; the Warriors have defeated Leech Lake Tribal College and fell to Central Lakes earlier in November. Vermilion's Wynter George had 19 points in her last outing against Gogebic. VCC will travel to Minnesota West on Saturday while Ridgewater will host Mesabi Range. |
