Strong weekend performances have powered a Minnesota West CTC Lady Jay and a Northland CTC Pioneer to women's basketball Player-of-the-Week honors.

In two victories this past weekend, Inhern had a record-breaking effort. For the Lady Jays opening game against Mesabi Range College, Swedberg was was 12-15 from the field, collecting 26 points, seven rebounds, an assist and two steals. Inhern was unstoppable in the Minnesota West contest against Vermilion Community College on Saturday. The sophomore was 16-23 from the field for 48 points, collected 18 rebounds, dished out an assist and a blocked shot. On the weekend she shot 28-38 (73%) from the field. She averaged 37 points and 12.5 rebounds. Inhern's 48 points in game two broke the school record that had been in existence since 1977. Center Sophomore Northland CTC

Megan Swedberg has a strong weekend for Northland Community & Technical College and has earned Player-of-the-Week honors. The sophomore center from Ogema, Minnesota helped lead Northland to 2-0 record for the weekend, collecting a total of 47 points and 23 rebounds along the way. In the two games, Swedberg was 21-26 from the field and was 5-8 from the free throw line. Northland was recognized earlier in the week as the #4 squad in the NJCAA weekly Top 10 poll. |
