LadyJays Look to Defend Home Court; RCTC, Ridgewater and Anoka-Ramsey head to Worthington

Rochester, Mn-

For the first time in at least 15 years, Minnesota West CTC will enjoy some home cooking for the NJCAA Region XIIIA women's basketball tournament.

The Lady Jays won the regular season Southern Division women's basketball title - and with it- the right the host the NJCAA post-season.   Click here for final MCAC standings and more information on the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

The Rochester CTC Yellowjackets put together a strong season of their own, earning nods from the National Ranking committee frequently along the way, and will make the relatively short trip on I-90 to join MnWest in the NJCAA post-season.  RCTC will play as the second seed this weekend.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College, a NJCAA National Tournament participant last winter- qualified as the third seed, putting together a strong second half of the season to be peaking at tournament time. The Golden Rams have been a mainstay in the NJCAA post-season and will be a tough first game for Rochester.

A new face to the NJCAA post-season in Worthington is Ridgewater College, who grabbed the fourth and final spot in the tournament, thanks in large part to a clutch win at Western Technical College in the last week of regular season play.  A 51-48 triumph by the Warriors allowed them to avoid a potential tie-breaker with Western Tech and move on to the next stage.
