Yellowjackets Fall Just Short in First Round of NJCAA Nationals

Rochester, Mn-

The RCTC Yellowjackets competed hard in a tough opening round contest against third-seed UConn-Avery Point, falling  98-93 in the final minutes of the 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships.

Rochester and UConn-Avery Point were tied at halftime, 44 apiece and at the end of the third quarter, 74-74 in a back-and-forth affair.  With just over four mintues to go in the contest, UConn-Avery Point was able to open up a two-point advantage and proceeded to close out the game to win by five.  RCTC moves to 23-7 overall on the season and will lace up again today, when they play Onondaga at 3pm in Rockford, Illinois.   A win over OCC will propel the Yellowjackets into the 5th place game on Saturday at 4pm.  A loss will drop Rochester to the 7th place game, scheduled for 2pm on Saturday.
